Who Should Earn the CGP®?

The CGP® is designed for board secretaries, corporate governance officers, regulatory compliance managers, and public sector leaders responsible for ensuring transparent, accountable, and effective governance structures. It is ideal for those who advise ministers, oversee state‑owned enterprises, or manage multi‑stakeholder governance frameworks.

  • Minimum 4 years of governance‑related experience (or 2 years with a relevant master’s degree).
  • Completion of CIPAG’s Governance Foundation course or equivalent exemption exam.

Governance professional

Renewal & CPD

The CGP® is valid for 3 years. To maintain active status, holders must complete 60 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits – including at least 20 credits in ethics or regulatory updates. Renewal fee: $150 USD (reduced to $75 for Africa/Caribbean).
